Access to starting point:
We drive into the center of Bovec, where, from the crossroads at the main square, we continue on an ascending road which past the post office starts ascending towards the nearby church. We bypass the mentioned church on the left side, and then we arrive in Kaninska vas. Bovec then ends and the road for some time leads towards the west. At a smaller junction we leave the main asphalt road which leads towards the village Plužna and we continue driving on the road slightly to the right (after the crossroads there are signs for the Gozdec road). Behind the nearby homestead, the road once again splits, this time we choose the road slightly to the left (slightly right Zavrzelno and the starting point of the path to Rombon). Further on, we ascend on the macadam road which brings us higher to the B station of the Kanin cableway, where we park on a larger macadam parking lot.
We can also reach the starting point at the B station by the circular cabin cable car.
Path description:
From the parking lot we continue a few steps on the road which leads higher, but we leave it just before the traffic sign which at certain times prohibits further driving, turning right onto a marked footpath. The path first crosses the cableway track, then passes into the forest, through which we ascend gently to moderately at first. The well-beaten path ends at the end point of one of the ziplines, and we continue on the less beaten marked path, which gradually transitions to steep and slippery-dangerous slopes, where we also cross a smaller wooden bridge which is already in doubtful condition. After the bridge there follows some exposed traversing, then the slope becomes less steep, and the path after crossing the torrent becomes gradually steeper. A few minutes higher we join the path from Bovec, and we follow the still quite steep path to the mountain pasture Krnica, where a shepherd hut stands.
