Access to starting point:
a) From Kranjska Gora, we drive via the Vršič or Predel pass to Bovec, where we park at the lower station of the circular cabin cableway to Kanin (the cableway is located near the gas station). Then we buy a ticket and take the cableway to the D station.
b) From the Primorska side, we first drive to the Soča river valley and then through Tolmin and Kobarid to Bovec, where we park at the lower station of the circular cabin cableway to Kanin (the cableway is located near the gas station). Then we buy a ticket and take the cableway to the D station.
Path description:
From the D station, head slightly left onto the path towards Kanin and the hut (slightly right Prestreljenik and Rombon). Initially, walk along the ski slope track, then the path forks. Slightly right continues the path to Visoki Kanin and the path towards Prestreljeniško okno (also Okno v Prestreljeniku), we continue slightly left and walk along the foot of the screes to the foot of a smaller wall. Here appear steel cables with the help of which we ascend the technically demanding section. After approximately 15 minutes the gradient eases, the scenic path then continues with some shorter ascents and descents, on exposed sections where the path runs above cracks or chasms, safety devices are still there to assist us. We then follow such a path, which continues through the world of the Kanin plateaus, to the bivouac, from which we descend in a few steps to the Dom Petra Skalarja on Kanin.
From the alpine hut, we easily descend to the foot of Konjc, where we leave the marked path and ascend via easier pathless terrain to the nearby wall. Follows a very demanding ascent, where while climbing to II. difficulty grade, along the exposed slope, in approximately 5 minutes we reach the panoramic summit.
