The hayrack "Laška vas - Pečovje" is an ideal starting point for mountaineering tours in the nearby hills. The hayrack was for a long time a characteristic of the gorge of Bojanski potok stream between Pečovje and Laška vas, along which an asphalt road also runs. A few years ago, the hayrack owned by the farmer miserably decayed, so the Municipality of Štore, due to its recognizability, built a new one with the help of European funds for the purpose of preserving vernacular architecture. Next to the hayrack there is a large parking lot where we can park our steel horse. We can reach the starting point by car from Celje and Štore, following the signposts for Svetina. When we drive past the area of the old part of the ironworks in Štore, we leave the main road to Svetina and turn right onto the turn-off toward Pečovje. We continue on the narrow asphalt road for approx. 1 km and we are already at our hayrack. We can also reach the starting point on foot, as the path from the Štore railway station to the hayrack is fully marked.
Path description:
The starting point of the path is at the new hayrack. A larger part of our path to Vrunčev dom is marked and equipped with signposts of Barbarina pot or Svetina. A smaller part of our path will run in the central section along an unmarked trail.
At the intersection by the hayrack, following the signpost to Svetina via Marija, we head along the asphalt road ahead toward Pečovje. After approx. 200 meters, at the second intersection, we continue sharply left and slightly uphill. The asphalt road soon levels out again by the sports field in the Pečovje settlement. Here is the starting point of Barbarina pot, so for the first part of our trip we follow its signposts. After three terraced houses, we turn left onto the forest road, which turns into a forest path at the last homestead. Soon at the junction, we continue left onto the path that leads through Bojanski graben, leaving Barbarina pot, which goes straight steeply uphill. We follow the marked path in the narrow gorge of Bojanski potok stream, but only to the first junction, where the marked path branches off left steeply uphill, while we continue straight along Bojanski potok. Soon we arrive at the abandoned Mirtova domačija homestead, where we cross the stream, leave the gorge, and continue steeply uphill on a narrow trail. Soon the trail turns into a cart track, which we follow uphill past a larger number of junctions, and at the end we join the marked Barbarina pot, which comes from the right past Marija, roughly parallel to the path along Bojanski potok.
At the next junction, we cross the forest road and continue along the ridge according to the blazes and signposts of Barbarina pot toward Svetina. Soon we reach a new junction, where we continue left toward Almin dom, while right branches the path toward Tolsti vrh. Soon the path brings us to the ridge, past the branch right downhill toward Svetina, where we continue straight to Almin dom, or Planinski dom na Svetini, which offers a wonderful view to the south toward the beautiful village of Svetina and the surrounding hills. Just above the hut is the peak named Ramanca (781 m), from which a view toward the north is also offered nearby. From here to Vrunčev dom, only ten more minutes of walking remain along the ridge toward the east.
