Mošćenice - Kremenjak (mimo Kalvarije)

Access to starting point:
Via the Jelšane or Pasjak border crossing, drive onto the motorway towards Rijeka. Exit the motorway at the Opatija junction and continue on the expressway towards Pula, exiting at the first Opatija exit. Follow signs for Lovran. Drive along the coastal road to Mošćenička Draga, where at the intersection turn slightly right towards Mošćenice. Park at the parking lot in Mošćenice or lower down along the road.

Path description:
From the starting point continue along the road past the Perun inn and soon a sign directs right onto the path. After a short ascent between houses it leads to a junction with a chapel. Left goes the marked path, we continue right into a short forest stretch. The path from here is marked only with K. After about 10 minutes of uneven ascent on a fairly stony path we arrive at the chapel and church of the Holy Cross on Kalvarija.
Bypass the church on the left and continue on the path leading along a dry-stone wall. The path gently ascends through the forest. Further on the forest thins slightly and we reach a small clearing where the path slightly descends. First views towards the Učka ridge and sea open up. After a short ascent step back onto the marked path to the Christ the King chapel in Marići hamlet. Then onto the asphalt road through a gated settlement. After longer ascent briefly leave the road for marked shortcut back to road and Mihani hamlet. Signs direct right onto path. Bypass last house left and enter forest. Path gently ascends to road at marked junction. Straight to Perun and towards Učka ridge. Continue left towards Kremenjak. Road gently descends and curves, then marks direct right onto ascending path. After short ascent path turns left and transversely ascends slope. After about half hour path levels and enters small valley. Path gently descends along valley bottom for a while then turns left. Soon onto road, follow right; after steps sign directs left onto path that steeply ascends then switchbacks. Path crosses towards Učka ridge. After 15 minutes to marked junction. Right to Planinsko zavetišče Kremenjak, Brgud and Vojak. Continue straight towards Kremenjak and Sisola. The path becomes somewhat stonier. After 10 minutes of scenic ascent reach panoramic summit Kremenjak. Summit has boundary marker and logbook box.
