Reka (Kozarska grapa) - Church of the Nativity of Mary in Police (via Poliška grapa (Poličanka))

Access to starting point:
A) From Idrija or Cerkno we drive towards Tolmin, where in the settlement Reka we need to pay attention to the approaching beginning of the path. When we get to the bridge, where the main road crosses the stream Kozarska grapa and where on the right we notice a carpentry workshop, we turn left and we park on a widened asphalt by the main road.
B) We drive to Bača pri Modreju (to here from Most na Soči or Podbrdo), and then we continue driving towards Idrija. In the settlement Reka, right behind the bridge, where we cross the stream Kozarska grapa, we turn right and we park on a widened asphalt by the main road.

Path description:
From the starting point, we cross the stream Kozarska grapa (also Kazarska grapa) and we continue by the main road in the direction of Most na Soči. Few minutes we walk by the main road, and then at the less noticeable crossing of the stream Poličanka we leave it and we continue right, on the road by which there is a gate. After the gate we short time continue on the macadam road, and then through a nicely settled meadow we walk to the beginning of Poliška grapa. At first, we easily follow the footpath which leads by the stream and then intuitively a little on the left and a little on the right side of the stream. When we get to the first waterfall, we bypass it on the right side, where with the help of iron spikes we ascend through brown bulges, and then we again continue directly by the stream.
Also, the second waterfall we bypass on the right side with the help of iron spikes, and the next as well with the help of some iron spikes, on the left side. Further on the steeper parts we still get help from occasional iron spikes, and at an orientation also from prusiks. The path ahead leads us on the right side of the stream (left bank), and during the walk we can admire the views of waterfalls, rapids and pools. Next follows a scenic, quite steep ascent through a draught-hole, and above the draught-hole another breathtaking view opens up on one of the waterfalls. Higher, we get to a pipeline, by which we short time continue, and then we gradually return to the stream. We continue on and a little above the riverbed, where at the orientation we get help from a prusik, and the gable of Poliška grapa we leave to the right, where with the help of iron spikes we start steeply ascending. From here the view opens up also on the last waterfall, named Hudičeva cerkev, and with the orientational help of prusiks, which serve also as blazes, we ascend from the gully and we run into a footpath.
We follow the footpath to the left (if we cross it we ascend on the ridge, from which we can cross into Kozarska grapa, and if we follow it to the right on the ridge which is rising above the gorge Poličanka we return to the starting point - pictures of this descent part are added at the end of the description) and there we descend a little to a riverbed of the stream and on the other side on visible old footpaths we ascend to a meadow, and there on a plateau, from where to the church we have only a short walk.
We can descend through the neighbouring gully of the stream Sjaunk (Sejalnik), through which leads a relatively easy to follow footpath or on the ridge, which is mentioned in the description at the exit from Poliška grapa, or we can descend also on an asphalt road.
