Rogla (Hotel Planja) - Ribniška koča

Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana - Maribor highway, we take the Slovenske Konjice exit and continue driving towards the mentioned settlement. From Slovenske Konjice we continue towards Zreče, while further on we follow the road in the direction of Rogla. When we arrive at Rogla, we park on the large parking lot near the hotel Planja.
B) First, we drive to Lovrenc na Pohorju (to here from the road Maribor - Dravograd), and then we continue driving towards Rogla and Koča na Pesku. Further, the macadam road then first brings us to Mašinžaga and then also to the mountain hut Koča na Pesku. From Koča na Pesku we continue on the asphalt road, on which we then ascend to the large parking lot near the hotel Planja.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the mountain direction signposts located by the pizzeria Planja, then we head onto the path in the direction of Lovrenška jezera, saddle Komisija and Ostruščica. Initially, we slightly descend beside the four-seater chairlift Planja; when we reach the narrower asphalt path, we follow it to the left for a short time, then the signs for Lovrenška jezera direct us right onto a larger pasture. Next follows an ascent on a gentle grassy slope; higher up, the meadow is replaced by sparse forest and we arrive at the upper slopes of Ostruščica.
From Ostruščica we descend along a cart track to saddle Komisija, where the path splits.
We continue slightly left in the direction of Lovrenška jezera and Ribniška koča (slightly right Lovrenška jezera and Ribniška koča - eastern path) and initially we still continue through the forest, then the forest begins to thin and in a gentle ascent we arrive at panoramic slopes from which a nice view opens towards Karawanks and Kamnik Savinja Alps. Further on, the path returns to the forest and continues without major changes in elevation; after a while, it brings us to a marked junction.
From the marked junction we continue straight in the direction of Lovrenc na Pohorju and Ribniška koča (right Lovrenška jezera - 10 minutes and Rogla via eastern path). Next follows traversing the slopes below the Lovrenška jezera plateau, where the path crosses a few streams, then the slope becomes panoramic and we arrive at the junction at Planinka.
Here we continue straight (right Lovrenc na Pohorju), the path leads us with nice views on Pohorje and Kamnik Savinja Alps and Karawanks in the distance, and to the right a nice view also opens towards Golica / Koralpe. Next follows a few minutes of descent across the expansive meadow of Planinka, then the path enters the forest and descends somewhat more steeply. Lower down, we also pass a neatly arranged spring, and behind it we reach the saddle Šiklarica, located at 1300 m above sea level.
From the saddle, we gradually begin to ascend, at junctions following the blazes. Slightly higher, a short path (2 minutes) branches off to the right to the memorial for the deceased pilots. We continue ascending through the forest, higher up the forest begins to thin and we arrive at the next junction, located a few minutes below Jezerski vrh.
Here we go straight (right Ribniško jezero 3 minutes) and ascend to the nearby Jezerski vrh, from which a nice view opens.
From Jezerski vrh we continue in the direction of Ribniška koča and begin descending along a well-trodden path from which beautiful views open up. Lower down, we step onto a macadam road, which we reach at the saddle between Mali Črni vrh and Jezerski vrh; we continue along this road, which heads northwest and slowly ascends. We follow this road to the Ribniška koča, a few minutes away.
