Štore - Vrunčev dom na Svetini (via Resevna and Resje nad Štorami)

Access to starting point:
Štore is ideally accessible with the help of Slovenian Railways. By car... we leave the motorway in Celje and practically in the center of Celje we head towards Štore or Šentjur. We park the car near the Štore railway station, where there are enough parking spaces available and also the beginning of the marked mountain path.

Path description:
The beginning of the path is at the railway station in Štore. We head through Voglajna, where a signpost immediately directs us to the left a few dozen elevation meters uphill. At the first structure we go left and follow the mountain path through the forest directly above Voglajna. At the exit from the forest in the settlement Draga we follow the meadow path also directly above Voglajna and further along the asphalt road to the bridge over the river Voglajna or to the junction named Opoka. Left over the bridge goes the path to Dramlje, Konjiška gora..., right on a narrower forest road through Kompole and Šentjanž higher into the world of the hills above Štore and Celje, we continue straight on the asphalt road and after a few hundred meters through the settlement Prožinska vas and somewhere three times in a row we turn slightly to the left. Of course the path is appropriately marked with blazes, signs and is easy to follow. Further on we switch to a cart track, which after a few hundred meters slightly downhill brings us to the stream, which after a few hundred meters we cross with the help of a small bridge, we continue past the water supply building, a smaller spring of water where we can quench our thirst, and a wooden cross. Soon after the cross we move away from the water and continue higher past the hayrack and through the yard of a homestead. Behind the homestead somewhat steeper uphill partly on the road and further on the meadow path, where we soon cross the forest road. With the help of a few meters of steel cables we continue higher on a pleasant forest path and soon a path from Šentjur joins from the left.
We continue on a somewhat wider forest path below the only homestead in this part and further somewhat to the right through the forest, where after a few hundred meters we reach an asphalt road that leads higher. Further we follow the asphalt road and after a few hundred meters a steep path from Šentjur joins from the left.
We continue further on the asphalt surface and with the help of wooden steps onto the meadow plain, where at the NOB monument we turn right onto the forest/delivery road to the Planinski dom Resevna and soon reach the hut.
From the hut we of course extend a few steps higher to the modern viewpoint tower from which we continue immediately downhill on the marked mountain path. After the descent in the forest section we descend to the open area by the homestead, two. Signs direct us further in the direction of Svetina and we continue straight on the upper forest road again into the more thorough embrace of the forest. We follow the well-marked forest road and continue past the monument to the Celje unit, which is left of the path, and somewhat to the right uphill on a narrower forest path, partly also trains. Soon we reach a somewhat larger hunting stand and after a short continuation also somewhere the indistinct summit Resje nad Štorami. A few meters below the summit again a monument to the establishment of the Celje unit at the homestead, which is a few dozen meters below the summit. Here there are also possible views somewhere in the direction towards the south and west.
From Resje we descend downhill along the asphalt connection and reach at two homesteads a wider asphalt road in Slemene. Along the asphalt road we continue right a few hundred meters and at the marked junction we continue again right into the forest on the forest mountain path. At the exit from the forest again onto the asphalt surface and through the central part of the settlement Javornik slightly uphill. We continue through the area named Mrzla planina, somewhere past five, six homesteads we soon reach the Štore - Svetina road and continue along it approximately two hundred meters. At the marked junction we turn from the asphalt road right uphill onto a narrower forest path. Soon we reach a nicely arranged weekend house with a beehive and continue higher in somewhat denser forest and upon arriving at the meadow pasture plain below the unfortunately abandoned homestead we reach the Dobošek junction. We continue somewhat uphill, downhill leads the path to Kompole or Štore via Šentjanž and at the chapel we turn right uphill along the asphalt road. Soon we reach Vrunčev dom, which is right by the path, the goal of the path today, which also rewards us with views.
The length of the path from Štore is around 12 kilometers, 960 positive elevation meters and 350 negative elevation meters.
