Access to starting point:
A) From the Maribor - Ljubljana highway, take the Celje Center exit towards Laško or Zidani Most. First, cross the first bridge directly below the center of Celje over the Savinja River. Somewhat lower in the settlement Polule, at the traffic-light intersection turn left over the bridge across the Savinja and immediately after the bridge at the intersection turn right. Just before the underpass to Zagrad, park on the parking lot on the right.
B) From the direction of Zidani Most or Laško, at the traffic-light intersection in Polule turn right and continue to the parking lot as described above.
Path description:
From the parking lot, continue to the intersection, left for Zagrad/underpass and follow right or straight on the asphalt road in the direction of Tremerje, direction sign. After a few hundred meters turn left and under the railway underpass immediately ascend through Pečovnik along the stream bed. Up to about 300 meters altitude asphalt and then right onto the forest path, sign on the tree Vipota and soon to one of the highest trees in Slovenia, around 50 meters high Douglas fir.
Further, follow the path higher and at two marked junctions to the right reach the top of Vipota.
From the top of Vipota descend back to the second junction and continue in the direction of Tolsti vrh (sign on the tree trunk). Soon reach the Ivankovič homestead on the idyllic clearing below Vipota and between the homestead and the farm building in a few tens of meters reach the junction. From the left the path below Vipota from Zagrad joins and somewhat further from the right the path from the Tremerje settlement. Continue upwards in the direction of the Celjska koča signpost with time 1 hour.
Follow the varied path through the forest, which also goes somewhat up and down. A few tens of meters of the path are also on asphalt surface and then again on the forest hiking path. Soon reach the chapel in the descent and further ascent towards Celjska koča. Higher the path levels somewhat, turns into a forest road, where to the right branches the path to Tolsti vrh ,,po vrheh,,. Continue straight, somewhat downhill and at the small forestry barrier reach the asphalt road. Continue straight a few hundred meters on the asphalt surface and in a gentle ascent reach the end of the path - Celjska koča, a modern building above Celje.
The length of the path from the starting point Zagrad is around 5 kilometers, 570 positive elevation meters and 150 negative elevation meters.
