Description of mountain:
Punta Penia, at 3,343 meters, is the highest peak of Marmolada and the Italian Dolomites. From the summit, where there is a small mountain hut (shelter and bivouac) and a cross, there is a beautiful view over much of the Dolomites. In good weather, the view extends to the highest peaks of Slovenia and the Gulf of Trieste.
