Description of mountain:
Sasso Vernale is a very panoramic pyramid south from Marmolada. To the upper ascent, which is demanding because of unmarked, but followable former military path on a steep rocks, covered with sand and by remains of warfare between Austro-Hungarian empire and Kingdom of Italy, is relatively easily accessible on a marked paths, mostly over the scree.
Accessible is from the mountain pass San Pellegrino, from Alba at Canazei and from the mountain hut Failer above Malga Ciapela.
Serious tour for experienced mountaineers, used of crumbly dolomite terrain, who have calm stride and don't underestimate relatively easy tours with some exposed spots.
