Description of mountain:
Snežnik or Veliki Snežnik is with height 1796 meters the highest peak in near and far surrounding, and from there is a nice view of a larger part of Slovenia and near neighbouring Croatia. In good weather we see highest peaks of Gorski Kotar and Istria, where Risnjak, Snježnik and Učka stand out. And on the Slovenian side over an ample forests of Notranjska we see also the highest peaks of the Julian Alps, Kamnik Savinja Alps and Karawanks.
Only few meters below the summit there is situated a cottage Zavetišče Draga Karolina on Veliki Snežnik.
