Alpine Ibex (Capra ibex)
Rock goat is an alpine animal which lives on rocky regions, mostly above forest edge. Even above 3000 metres height above sea level. It descents a little bit lower in winter time because a lack of food. Even into forest regions. They always unite in packs. Adult males become solitaries. Rock goat is recognized by its strong horns which grow to about 1m. Horns are pretty smaller at females (about 30cm long). Adult rock goat weighs about 90kg, rare are heavier and grow up to 90cm. Length of the body including head is a little bit longer and is about 150cm. They are very agile despite their weight. They can jump up to 4m high with a run or 2m without it. They mate in december and january. Female whelps 1-2, rarely 3 younge ones after 4 months. They live up to 17 years.
