Dragonfly is a flying insect up to 10 cm in size found almost all over the world. It is most often observed near rivers, streams, swamps and lakes from lowlands to mid-mountains. Younger dragonflies avoid the vicinity of water. Dragonfly, which many people fear, is not dangerous to humans. It feeds on smaller flying pests such as mosquitoes, flies, mayflies and the like.
