Abrotan-leaved ragwort (Senecio abrotanifolius)
Description:
Abrupt-leaved or narrowly-rounded groundsel (Senecio abrotanifolius) belongs to the daisy family, flowers from July to September, grows from 10 to 40 cm tall. One of our most beautiful groundsels. We often see it in mid-mountains and high mountains well into autumn. Grows from 1400 to 2600 m high. Thrives on dry stony soils among grasses and debris. Flower heads are orange-yellow to orange-red. Flowers are not filled - large from 2.5 to 4 cm. Under each head there are exactly 21 involucral bracts. Segments of stem leaves are narrowly linear - shiny.
