Description:
Alpine honeysuckle (Lonicera alpigena L.) belongs to the honeysuckle family, flowers from May to July, grows up to 2 m tall. It is a green inconspicuous shrub with small pinkish flowers, deciduous, grows up to 2300 m. Flowers are bisexual, have five fused corolla lobes, five stamens and an inferior ovary. Flowers are two-fruited, always in pairs with fused ovaries. The fruit consists of two red fused berries.
