The black ivanjščica does not exist. We have the dark ivanjščica (Leucanthemum adustum), but it does not grow with us - only in the Western Alps.

T. Wraber speaks about the black ivanjščica (this "broader" name comes from the dark-edged involucral leaves), that botanists from the previous century already knew that the black ivanjščica does not grow only in the NE Calcareous Alps, but also in the Kamnik Alps. Only in 1960 did the teacher of systematic botany E. Mayer realize that the NE and SW populations of the black ivanjščica differ well from each other and thus described the Kamnik subspecies. Wulfen changed the name Kamnik into Lithopolis in Greek - "Stone city" and thus the adjective lithopolitanicus arose and with it the Kamnik ivanjščica - Leucanthemum lithopolitanicum.
