There is some confusion with aquilegias. I cannot confirm that the presented one is correct. It is really necessary to photograph the flower accurately and clearly from all viewing angles, as well as the leaves and stem. For example, Hoppe states that the common aquilegia has blue-violet flowers. As far as I know, only the black-violet and the many-flowered have those. These darkest aquilegias differ only in flower size. The common aquilegia has the same flower color as Einselejeva, Bertolonijeva, and our newly determined endemic julijska-endemit of the southern part of the Julian Alps. For determination, we must know the leaves and flower spurs of individual species, which is not easy. I cannot distinguish these blue ones.
