Description:
Golden hawksbeard (Crepis aurea) belongs to the chicory family, flowers from June to September, grows from 5 to 25 cm tall. It is the most common of the low hawksbeards in our region and covers large mountain pastures and easier screes extensively. Prefers moist and rich soils on mountain meadows and pastures between 1200 and 2700 m. Flowerheads are solitary on relatively long stems. The flower is yellow to orange colored. The involucral bracts of the head are adorned with black protruding hairs. Leaves are lyrately dentate to pinnate.

The third picture does not show golden hawk's-beard, but some species of hawkweed.
