Hairy Alpenrose (Rhododendron hirsutum)
Description:
Rhododendron hirsutum is an evergreen shrub that grows taller than 1 m. On this shrub, small pink to violet flowers bloom in summer, stopping many a hiker or female hiker in their tracks. Rhododendron hirsutum is most commonly seen in the Alps, where it occurs in the dwarf shrub belt and on overgrown screes.
