Description:
Panicled saxifrage (Saxifraga paniculata) belongs to the saxifrage family, flowers from May to September, grows 10 to 30 cm tall. One of our beautiful saxifrages. The plant grows cushion-like up to 3400 m. It loves dry calcareous soils, often grows in rocky crevices. Thus we see a cluster of characteristic leafy rosettes (like in moss campion). The leaves are toothed, secreting limestone on the edges. Flowers are in panicles, 1-5 flowers on each branchlet.
