The dove's-foot crane's-bill grows on cultivated soils, forest edges, hedges and along paths. It flowers from May to the end of July. The flowers are light scarlet coloured. There are only five petals per flower and they are fused at the base of the flower. Stem, leaves and flower stalks are appressed-hairy. By all these characteristics it is distinguished from the Pyrenean crane's-bill. All summarised from the Small Flora of Slovenia.
