Rock Campion (Silene rupestris)
Description:
Up to 25 cm tall plant is glabrous, bluish-green. Leaves are lanceolate. Stem is branched from the base and not sticky. Flowers have five petals fringed at the apex, without distinct appendage in the throat. Flower diameter is 6-10 mm. Flowers from June to September.
Grows on non-calcareous (silicate) soils, in rock fissures and scree up to 3000 m. Widespread in Scandinavia and mountains of central and southern Europe, also Carpathians and Transylvanian mountains. Rare in limestone Alps. Does not grow in Slovenia.

Rock campion has much wider leaves. On the picture it is four-toothed pearlwort (Heliosperma pusillum).
