All these gently violet-colored gentians are of similar height except the tender one. This species is completely different and I haven't seen it yet. Six of them are supposed to be found here - hairy, cup-shaped, rough, German, Austrian and early, and it's hard to distinguish. To me they seem too similar to be able to distinguish them. The dwarf one is borderline. The Austrian and German pull most towards pink. But the flowers also fade quite quickly. I didn't note at what altitude which one grows.

Based on the narrow and long lanceolate leaves, this cannot be rough gentianella, because the latter has ovate to ovate-lanceolate leaves, at most 3 times as long as wide. We are closer to hairy g. - Gentianella pilosa. Both species grow at lower altitudes or in the lowlands. The picture looks as if taken above the treeline, where only cup gentianella G. anisodonta thrives. In addition, a hand lens is needed to determine the species, to check the presence of hairs or papillae on the veins of the calyx appendages.
