Stemless carline thistle (Carlina acaulis)
Description:
Carline thistle is a dwarf plant protected from enemies by a large number of sharp thorns. It can be observed from mid-summer until autumn. It is most commonly seen on partially abandoned alpine pastures, pastures, meadows and forest edges.
