Admonter Reichenstein (2251m)

Yesterday again in the Gesause range.
From the idyllic place Gaishorn am See we drove on a forest road up to 1380m, 20 minutes to the Modlinger-Hütte hut. The road is tolled (7 euros).
From the hut we continued along the grassy ridge to the junction for Admonter Reichenstein. From there we cross the slope of Totenkopf, over the exposed and smooth plateau called Herzmann Kupfer Platte. Behind the edge a gully appears upwards to the summit. The marked and protected path leads left of the gully on a steep, rocky and in the upper part also grassy slope.
When this steep slope ends, the path turns left around and on easy terrain to the summit.
The mountain has wonderful views far around, even to Großvenediger. The descent requires great caution, because you have to downclimb grade II too.
I must say I was thrilled by the mountain. Actually, it would be hard to decide which mountain is prettier than it. And with nicer access.
The hut below has scenery for gods anyway.

Admonter Reichenstein (2251m) If I were younger, I would say, definitely again sometime. But definitely to the left ridge as well.19
