Bleckwand (1541m) Starting point: Through the Karawanks Tunnel we drive into Austria and continue on the Tauern motorway, which we leave just before Salzburg in the town of Hallein. We continue towards Lake Wiestalstausee, then Fuschlsee and Wolfgangsee, where we head towards Strobl. In the village of Gschwendt, signs for Bleckwandhütte direct us right. Soon we reach an automatic barrier (5€ - July 2016). We follow the asphalt road to the organized parking lot. At the parking lot, signs for Bleckwandhütte direct us left into the forest. The trail is gentle, very well marked, and the path is enlivened by signs with the story of Little Red Riding Hood. From Bleckwandhütte beautiful views open to Wolfgangsee, Schafberg and surroundings. The path to the summit from the hut heads steeper uphill. Just below the summit the path leads past a 'rock window', through which we can observe the lake. For the entire trail we need less than an hour. We can return to the starting point by the same path, or follow path no. 31 to the pasture Niedergadenalm.
