Deneck & Kaltenbach Lakes

Deneck (2443m), with its three lakes, is a nice and relatively short panoramic tour. The starting point is a bit below Sölkpass at around 1700m; to there it was by bus from the motorway exit for Ljubelj almost three hours.

This was after a long time my first trip in the framework of the mountaineering society. The guide's categorical stance somewhat surprised me: my footwear - low shoes for 'accesses and hiking' brand Five Ten - is inappropriate for such a tour. And that if I want to join any more tours in the PD framework, I should come with high boots.
