Yesterday my wife and I visited this scenic peak above Lake Gosau. We parked at the Gosaukammbahn cable car. Parking fee is 10 euros per day. You can see it's a more touristy area. If you park a bit lower, it's free.
From the top station of the cable car we went past Gablonzer Hütte up the normal route to the summit. There were quite a few visitors at the top. Most climb up the via ferrata, which is attractive mainly due to the 40m aerial ladder.
The peak has great views, especially in this colorful autumn time. From Ankogel group, main peaks of High Tauern, partial Steinernes Meer group with Hochkönig, Tennengebirge group to Hoher Göll peeking out from Hagengebirge group. To the NE the Totesgebirge group.
And of course the best view in the same Gosaukamm group to the peaks in the ridge with prominent Große Bischofsmütze and peaks around Hoher Dachstein with glacier. Below beautiful Lake Gosausee.
If you're in that neck of the woods, definitely worth visiting this peak. Unique view of the double-headed Große Bischofsmütze and Dachstein glacier.
