For my 10th tour this year in the Austrian mountains, I chose the mighty hill above Hall, in the so-called Haller Mauern. For the starting point, again the Ardning Alm hut under Bosruck. But not because of the free parking, instead of which Vinko and I treated ourselves to strudel and a drink there after the tour. The tour from there is a bit longer and more varied with a circular tour, or Karleckrunde. Past the Rohrauer Haus hut, on a beautiful autumn day we climbed the steep path to the summit of Großer Pyhrgas. We stayed on the summit a nice while. About 15 of us were there today on this summit. From the summit there's a beautiful view in all directions. The Haller Mauern mountains stand out, Gesäuse, Grimming, Dachstein and High Tauern in the background, Spitzmauer, Großer Priel,… Just below us the elegant Bosruck, which reminds me of our Matkov kopec. In the valley above Hall and Admont the fog lingered a long time, on the other side towards Spital am Pyhrn it was clear. The descent we did along the ridge towards Hof Alm, and then left down to the forest road and along it over Arlingsattel back to the starting point.
