We've had this handsome beauty in sight for quite a few years. Yesterday on Blaustein we decided to visit it. Above Trbiž there was a cloudy sky this morning, so we didn't hesitate at all, since we had a backup plan too. From Šmohor it would be quick through Mokrin to our favorite Karnics. So we drove along the Gail Valley to Reissach (sadly I don't know the Slovenian name), there we turned right towards Jochalm and drove up to the mentioned pasture at around 1500 m. From the pasture we went a little along the road to the west, then up into initially forested slopes, higher steep grass, even a section with fixed cables, to the ridge and along the ridge, where there was some snow too towards the west to the summit. All in all there were 9 of us on the top today and one dog (holiday in Austria). An extremely panoramic mountain between Gail and Drava valleys offered us a beautiful view, definitely worth a visit, although not exactly difficult, it's not really easy either. Due to snow on the ridge and on the north side we abandoned the plan to go back circularly to the east and back to the valley, so we returned the same way. In some places quite a lot of caution was needed due to slipping on wet black soil. Otherwise the memorial plaques also testify to sad fates, so many memorial plaques can only be seen on the ridge of Mt. Triglav. On the return we also checked out the sunny Jochalm pasture, now of course completely deserted, in summer it can be quite lively here. Nice, nice.
