Yesterday's nice, almost autumn day, we used for a visit to the scenic summit in Totes Gebirge. We started at the Standseilbahn Wurzeralm parking lot and, because we were mostly pensioners, took the Seilbahn to Wurzeralm. From there we took an unmarked shortcut under Wurzer Kampl to the Frauenkar ski area and partly up it to the upper station. Left of the station begins the ridge, partly secured path, the so-called Alpiner steig, towards the summit of Warscheneck. In the lower part the ridge is still grassy, then rocky and always narrower, and in the last part it stands upright and offers some climbing. As much as it is not spoiled by the safety equipment installed in places. The summit is extremely scenic. There was quite a bit of traffic from various sides yesterday. We descended along the wide ridge towards Toter Mann and before Rote Wand turned down to the pasture, past Brunnsteiner See back to the upper station of the Seilbahn. Due to access by Seilbahn we expected a smaller loop, but it was quite substantial. If starting from the valley, there are cca 1800m of elevation.
