Corsican Matterhorn. Climbed with wife 7.9.2004. Most beautiful is ascent from Viru valley, later we also went to nearby Capu Tafunatu. Corsica unforgettable, visited it three times, climbed 48 peaks, wonderful lakes, valleys, small towns and more... Best! Ps: unfortunately I have the pics on slides.

Capu d'Orto (1294 m) is not very high, but a very photogenic peak above Porto on the west coast of Corsica. The usual path to it leads from the village Piana; if someone for such or other reasons wants to approach it directly from the sea, i.e., from Porto, they can use my report.

@BananaBronson ... these are really wonderful places, you awakened *Corsica*fever in us . We did Capu d'Orto after GR20, when unexpectedly a few days were left over. For us it is one of the nicer viewpoints of the local *highlands*, especially full of unusual rock sculptures. I recommend it to all who will be nearby sometime .

@bagi I agree! But to soothe Corsica fever maybe better to wait a year, this year there were really huge crowds. In Restonica we hiked almost in a solid column ... It is true, around Porto it was much better. On Capu d'Orto that morning there were only about seven of us.
