Last week my wife and I walked the circular route GR58 called Tour du Queyras. It is a French regional park in the Hautes-Alpes department. For start and finish we chose the village Ceillac which we reached by car. Via Venice, Milan, Turin and over the Montgenèvre pass. There is enough parking in Ceillac and it is free. There is enough information about the route itself online (I mostly used the Komoot app). The route is between 110 and 130 km and around 7000 elevation gain. Of course it depends on the variants available which are quite a few. We planned the route itself in six stages. We slept in huts or gîtes along the route (overnight for two with dinner, breakfast and snack for the next day was around 140 eur). The reservation system is quite simple (we booked only a few days in advance). Many hikers sleep outdoors in tents. Camping is allowed outside villages at night time. The route itself is not difficult. Well marked, in places quite wide. From valleys, over passes, past lakes. Under three-thousanders, along endless streams and whistling marmots. There is enough water along the route itself. We completed the stages like this - of course the tour can be extended to more days or shortened by a day 🙂 Ceillac - Saint-Véran: 17.7 km, 1,562 vm ascent / 1,181 vm descent Saint-Véran - l'Echalp 24.8 km, 1,225 vm ascent / 1,544 vm descent Echalp - Abriès 17.4 km, 1,251 vm ascent / 1,321 vm descent Abriès - Souliers 26 km, 1,889 vm ascent / 1,580 vm descent Souliers - Bramousse 28.3 km, 1,610 vm ascent / 1,997 vm descent Bramousse - Ceillac 9.1 km, 806 vm ascent / 570 vm descent I hope the description and these few pictures will inspire someone else to visit these places. p.s. I added the gpx tracks among the GPS trails
