Treskavac - Veli vrh
Ascent at sunset, where at a faster pace I missed the poorly visible western path to the summit, as it starts pathless somewhere in the grassy area just before the "pond" and then I ran up the pathless ridge from the path leading towards Obzova on the eastern side of Veli vrh slope.
The sun had just set behind the horizon, but the beautiful mix of colors in the sky still provided magnificent admiration

A few years ago we were already at Obzova from Punat. This time we wanted to check out the Fortuna climbing routes near Baška. But the gully between the climbing routes was so tempting that we went to explore it, climbed to the wonderful peaks before Obzova and found the way back to our starting point. Wonderful world that we will visit again. Since the day was still long, we went to the other side of Baška on the path towards Veli Luka, descended into the beautiful Veržinica canyon to the coast. Beautiful canyon and wonderful world.

Of course we knew that ascent to Obzova in mid-August isn't exactly the best idea, but what if we always wander around these parts only in summer... So we went! To the summit via the direct path, which is now excellently marked from start to finish, back via Zminja and Lipica. Since the sun was already bothering us a lot, at Lipica we decided to skip Veliki Hlam and head in the direction of the arrow indicating a more direct path to Stara Baška. But we soon regretted it, as the path is neither visible nor marked. So we walked through scrub and steep in not very friendly terrain and were quite happy when we found contact with the marked path again. The landscape on the way is really interesting, we were surprised by quite a bit of shade about half an hour before the summit. But ascent in August has some advantages too: along the path we ate figs and blackberries, filled our backpacks with sage which scented almost the entire path for us. On the way we met five Slovenes and two sheep  .
Since we didn't have more suitable footwear, we went up in sneakers. But I recommend hiking boots, as there is a lot of slippery stones on the path. We all felt it on our ankles! Also some socks would have been good, as the "roses" along the path scratched us nicely.
Very very nice path, highly recommend it!

Veli vrh, Brestovica, Obzova and Zminja
Since it's harder to get to an island in the mountains than to the mountains on an island, princess and I did the latter and had a great time. Somehow it's not proper to climb too much inland at the sea, so we chose the highest starting point, reconciled with the path length since we've walked longer ones. At the beginning it was hot for us, as we came from almost winter to almost summer, but acclimatization was short-lived and then we easily handled the temperature during the hike. No special features on the path, just markings are fainter and rarer, so (and not only therefore) we did a good part of the hike off-path. We weren't shortchanged on views either. Surrounding islands and mainland were nicely visible, as well as the path we already walked and the one still ahead. Nearly twelve kilometers long path, during which we ascended and descended less than four hundred meters, we managed in four and a half hours. We liked the hike so much that we'll probably repeat it in autumn, just then the path and starting point will be different. After the tour we went to Baška. Didn't dip toes in the sea because of cold water, walk along it and culinary indulgence on the shore sufficed. Great day!

Congratulations on 1000th post. I really enjoy reading all your posts. Especially since the gentler sex accompanies you. Now I see what all can be done. If you have a good guide. Keep it up. Best to both.

Today 8.9.2023 to Veliki Vrh from Punat, path is nice and well marked, below summit markings a bit worse but follow clearly visible trail marked 1:45h from main road I needed 1:15. Planned to extend path to Obzova but very strong wind on top of Veliki Vrh. Highest peak for another time. ☺️
