I'd like to go to a 4000er in Italy.
Which is the easiest for us inexperienced mountaineers?

Breithorn 4165m above Zermatt has short access if you take the cable cars to the ski area below it. Otherwise even Šmarna gora doesn't guarantee a fully safe visit in winter if you don't judge the conditions on the path and use appropriate gear in time.

Gran Paradiso yeah longer hike, Breithorn has gondola help nasmeh. It shook my pants on G.P. looking at its sheer wall nasmeh View phenomenal.

If it's for the least walking and the easiest (no easy, simple peak above 4000m, surprises anywhere!) then Allalinhorn above Saas-Fee is the right choice.
Then from Saas-Grund also Weissmies, which is not demanding either.
From Saas-Grund it's not far to Zermatt, so you can nicely connect both with Breithorn.

Forgot to add:
Besides Weissmies also Lagginhorn, accessible from Saas-Grund too. Not demanding.

Breithorn, gondola from Zermatt to Klein Matterhorn, then two hours to top. Gran Paradiso nothing special, just last jump more demanding. Definitely hut overnight recommended for this peak, I think it's called Emanuele.
cheers

I think Breithorn right choice mainly for easy access from Switzerland and Italy. You can see pics from my walk around Breithorn two years ago at

In these months you DON'T go on 4000s. Or inexperienced. Sidarta's book nicely describes all 4000 ALPS. Also by difficulty Bishorn-Switzerland-Zinal ranks as least demanding 4+ for me, technically. Ascent up is two-day though..Of course from ZINTAL direction, Italian route is different school. Technically Allalinhorn and Breithorn are suitable for start. Gran Paradiso has on top ...something many don't like.
Bishorn is indeed easy too, but tiring due to height difference. Plus glacier crevasses are incomparably more dangerous there than on Allalinhorn and Breithorn.

Allalinhorn or Breithorn both fully suitable for "solo" ascent, no rope, just ice axe and crampons. From final gondola/train station max 2h ascent to either. Plus height such that both can be done comfortably without acclimatization - safely.

I wasn't even thinking of 4000 m in winter months, but in summer
These cable cars with gondolas I don't like at all, because it's raping nature
When I go to the mountains I start hiking where I park the car not at 3800 m
