Cadini di Misurina

I park my car 50 meters uphill from the junction of the narrow asphalt road through Val Marzon from the state road, 4 km uphill from Auronzo, and set off on path 1104, then 119. The road from Casere Bombassei onwards is officially closed to traffic already for 2 years, due to works to repair huge landslides on both sides of the valley. For those who want to risk the fine, the road is asphalted and drivable to the end (elev. 1340). At location Cason de la Pala there are now two variants of path 1104; the lower junction of the variants is not marked (signs lead directly to Valon de Lavaredo), at the upper junction the sign to hut Auronzo is missing, so the situation on the terrain is confused. By the way, in the entire area there is no signpost with walking time! After the ascent to pass Rinbianco I opt for the wonderful circular path Durissini, clockwise. The initial part (to the first saddle) is also somewhat harder to pass on the destroyed scree from storms. The last ascent to Forcella di Nevaio is tough because it is exposed to the sun. Half-board in hut Fonda Savio is now 73 €, just a Radler costs 8 €. And they do not accept cards, so you need to bring a bag full of cash. From the hut I descend tourist path 115 to the parking at Plan dei Spiriti (despite the ban it is a real car camp there), from there by bike back to Auronzo (approx. 20 km). The plan for the second day was ascent through Val del Marden (path 106) then traverse from bivouac Dei Toni along lake Cengia to hut Auronzo then path Bonacossa to pass Rinbianco and again path 119, now down to the bike at elev. 1340. Path 106 is nicely graded in a gentle ascent as a mulattiera (unlike ours without stones on the path!), through switchbacks in the forest and incredibly comfortable for walking, but after half an hour of ascent one reaches a huge torrent gully that is practically impossible to cross, although I tried for half an hour studying options for descent into the gully and exit from it. At one point the situation became dangerous, so I finally gave up, although maybe one could try descending right by the rock and climbing out of the gully 30 m lower. So my plan for the second day failed as the weather started to worsen meanwhile, but I am satisfied with my rational decision, which was not easy for me.
