Ciaurlec and Valinis Mountains

The starting point for the hike isn't close, you have to drive to Meduna in Pordenone province and find the church in the hamlet Sottomonte where the trail starts (CAI 819). To the circular tour over Valinis summit I added a detour to Ciaurlec, so we managed a good kilometer of ascent, though each summit is only a meager eleven hundred and some meters high. From Valinis shelter to Ciaurlec the path goes through forest, so no views and the summit offers very few, the path to Valinis and the descent down the other side is very scenic and if you get lucky with weather like we did, views reach to the sea. During the beautiful trip we met no one, which is kind of standard on our paths.
