Cima dell’Uomo is not an easy mountain. It's one of the most difficult to access that we've visited in our mountaineering career. There's no particular climbing involved, at most a shaky II. And on top of that, the route is marked with ancient, faded marks. But that's only one side of the coin. The other is the extreme narrowness of the passages and the instability of the rocky base on the path. You have to test everything twice before stepping properly, and even then you have a bad feeling. In many places you know exactly that down is a one-way ticket. And to leave no doubt, all this awaited us already on the ascent, descent was even more demanding. And why did we go to this mountain at all? He, he … to pay off our debt from a few years ago . At that time we were exploring this part of the Marmolada range and due to poor markings we got seriously lost right towards Cima dell’Uomo (here). Due to heavy backpacks and a long path, we luckily turned back in time. Already then we said never up here again, but time does its thing and memory fades . So we went, first along the beautiful Bepi Zac path, which I warmly recommend to everyone with some experience, then to the respectable mountain. And right on Cima dell’Uomo we experienced something that's obviously happening everywhere in recent years. On the summit we met five French kids and their father, all tourist-equipped and as it turned out later also without proper experience. We almost forgot to close our mouths in surprise . Why they chose this summit among a multitude of more accessible ones will remain a question for me forever. But we've experienced something similar at home too. The summit part of the descent was shared and there the French were still quite confident. Later we learned that it all stopped very quickly for them and without the help of two local mountaineers they wouldn't have made it down. We also met those two mountaineers and both were quite angry about the extremely irresponsible act of the father. They said that in the Dolomites lately this is common practice and that's why more than 80 people died in one single month. Anyway, Cima dell’Uomo requires an experienced mountaineer. Let that be a guide for all planning an ascent to it. More about the entire path in the photo story ... Coordinates of the starting point (San Pellegrino Pass): 46°22'41.336"N, 11°47'40.176"E

bagi, if I understand correctly, the marked path from Forc. dell Om to Forcelle Laghet, i.e. the connection Costabelle with Ombretto is not passable (pic. 63 and 81)?

@bbugari1 ... check this my link from two years ago ... link. See post from 29.8.2023. This time we got to pic 71 on that link, continuation on pics 72 and 73 now in much worse condition than then. Lots of new scree and even more fallen trees on already quite steep terrain. With much more time maybe at least try, but based on seen we turned back. This time problem was to reach the bridge already (pic 81 here), cause even there everything crumbled and no idea how to get to it. So passable yes or no ... probably yes, but definitely far from easy and with plenty of time
