The starting point for the tour is the free parking lot for the Rifugio Giaf hut, the turn-off from the main road is 2 km after Forni di Sopra towards the Passo della Mauria pass. At the parking lot there is a panoramic board and a row of benches and tables, also available for free use. To the hut and further to the Forcella Urtisiel the path is marked, from there to the summit faded bolli rossi and rare cairns accompany you. Caution: from the forcella you need to descend a bit to the other side, say a few dozen meters, then a smaller cairn directs you left onto a nice traceable little path that leads you through the brush. The summit, according to descriptions, is one of the least demanding in these parts; with a bit more luck with the weather than I had, it is also an excellent viewpoint. The first among the chosen in these parts is of course Monte Cridola, but the other peaks in the surroundings can also boast their wild appearance, many also with their apparent inaccessibility at first glance. Path to the hut and further to the summit without special features, the hut will be open until Sunday 1.10., in winter there is a winter bivouac a bit lower. Great outing, excellent introduction for future tours in these parts

Nice in beautiful places, this is part of the Truoi dal sclops path. Too bad you didn't extend from the forcella to the Valmenon pasture - less than half an hour. There really is an original guy managing the modest but genuine shelter.

Super, Miran, thanks for the tip. First time in these parts, given that the huts are closing slowly, probably again only next summer, maybe Cimacuta before the first snow
