For the return to Genoa to the south and home, I chose a circular tour over the highest European pass Col de l'Iseran 2770m. Here I met a young cyclist from Colorado USA, who later explained that his roots from his great-grandfather are from Slovenia, he knows that. He came by bike on vacation from America, partly by train, higher ascents by bike, and was very enthusiastic about nature. Briefly, I viewed the church of Mary and the souvenir hut, then the road descends through smaller idyllic high-mountain villages to Lanslevillard 1500m, where the road turns left to Mt. Cenis pass 2083m, further with a slight descent, we spot the huge lake Lac du Mt. Cenis, all still on French soil. Later we finally reach the Italian side. Below, I won't talk about the rip-off of Italian tolls. I paid twice without a ticket (drove through city accesses meanwhile - Garmin) and later joined the motorway. I just snarled at the collector, asking what and with what they charge, he arrogantly and bitterly replied that he can't help, that's how it is, and closed the window. You can tell I've entered Italy one way or another. Well, later I was stewing in Genoa at 38°C. At night in the middle of Italy, the temperature on motorways doesn't drop below 27.5°C. After the long trip, I safely arrived home at 3 a.m., despite the nighttime bang of two cars around me (chain collision). In thanks to the guardian above me, I just prayed in gratitude and drove into the night towards Ljubljana.
