Immediately after the start at the Vrtojba parking lot, a tough drive in pitch darkness and thick fog was forecast for us, and it really was so further from Pordenone. At Lake S. Croce it was already getting light, so there were no problems finding the right track (there are signs for huts-rifugii Dolada and Carota, which however are not huts). We did the tour roughly according to the Stritarjevih description, but I would add that the times in the description are exaggerated in my opinion; we hiked only 5.5h net. Nice areas, the trail is always nicely visible and marked, and it also runs mostly in the open, but it is really little frequented, which is no wonder since we met only one couple. Instead, we saw several different locals(?), especially the mouflon surprised us (at home we have seen them only once at Skoznem). On the summit one hour with that weather and views on all sides passes like a flash. Aja, one more thing; the descent over screes and narrow gravel tongues is also newly marked with red blobs.
