On Tuesday evening I leave Cadore. Through the Ciampigotto saddle I drive to Forcella Lavardet, where I sleep in the car. This morning I drive a km or two down Pesarina valley and park below the abandoned casera Lavardet, also the starting point of the road to Casera Mimoias. My exploratory urge won't let me rest and above the abandoned pasture I search for a path that should lead high up under Creta Mimoias or somewhere under Monte Paradaro. When it seems I've found it, of course it's gone again, but somehow it doesn't make sense to me that the ascent would go straight up the cluttered gully; when I push through the about 25-meter bush belt, it quickly confirms to me by outlines of footprints and higher up by freshly cut bushes. Follows a passage through a nice gully to lush green meadows, I go a bit to the right and soon find a path marked with dots leading to the Creta summit. I follow the dots as much as possible, otherwise the grasses are passable everywhere, but not just grasses, among them huge giant gentians such as I've never seen, and nice eyebright specimens too. Wonderful view from the top, especially on nearby Terzo Grande, Creste del Enghe, all the way to Antelao and Cridola. I sit on the top for about half an hour, then descend. Now I decide on the northern variant, I follow the dots but obviously the "wrong" one, which brings me above a steep wet rocky grassy chute that is quite exposed for descent in the given conditions. Somehow I descend also with the help of two tied auxiliary cords, which I hook on a small rock horn at the trickiest spot. Already 300 m lower I am on path 202, which leads to Enghe pass. But obviously a path used to lead up here sometimes, as red blotches on rocks can still be found, even through the nasty chute. Follows descent to the road and in less than half an hour I am at the car. The mountain is unjustly lonely, its lush flowers would delight many, views are unique, I suggest ascent from Pian di casa, which is no longer than my starting point and of course up the path where there is a nice inscription on the rock, which you find good 15 minutes' walk from casera Mimoias toward pass Enghe.
