The starting point is at the mineral water fountain in Degano valley, a little further past Pierabecha. Up the valley to the first junction, then right on CAI142 to the lower and upper Sissanis huts, where Creta Verde is written on a big boulder. There starts the pathless route, which leads past the Creta Verde hut to the Passo dell’Agnello saddle. We didn't find the path after that boulder, we relied on our "nose" and the map and thus shortened the ascent through really steep terrain. In the forest only the steepness was tiring, above the forest line dry quite slippery grasses, scree crumbling under our feet, and bushes to cross added their bit. We had to really struggle to the saddle, there we felt a bit of relief, we took a short rest, then the last bit to the top. The summit slope of Creta Verde is steep, the grassy ledge exposed, despite some protections caution is needed. At Creta summit a proper rest, cheers, as it turned out that way, then the descent we knew wouldn't be easy. From the saddle we struggled to Campanile Letter, short undemanding ferrata, some cables and pegs, shame to ignore it when it's just a quarter hour away. The descent went slowly from under our feet, really demanding terrain, I flew properly once. The little paths, black dashed on the CAI map, are gone, only here and there we followed bits of it, like on the ascent we went mostly by nose. When we came far enough to safely drop to the marked path to Sissanis saddle, we did so and quenched our thirst with fresh stream water there. The saddle was neither far nor high, we were quickly at Pera lake, from where we had an excellent view of the surrounding peaks. Oh, it nearly melted me seeing the peaks visited in past years, tours to them beautiful memories. Casera Bordaglia di Sopra not far, path there soft and comfy, meadows quite different from steep pathless scree and slippery grasses. Of course we went to the lake too, surrounding peaks sparkling like in a mirror. Fairytale places, spots like this. Descent past Casera Bordaglia di Sotto just pleasant stroll, finale of truly beautiful tour. After a long time a tour demanding more than expected, giving much more too. Invaluable, precious memory
