The mentioned mountains belong more to the Dolomites than to the Carnic Alps since they are in the province of Veneto left of the Piave, but it doesn't matter, they are beautiful and always worth visiting. With my colleague we were at 8:00 at the starting point in Sunny Valley - Sappada, more precisely near Pecsa sportiva, where path 317 starts. Along the road closed to public traffic to the artificial lake, then along the forest track and further on a nice alpine path to passo dell'Arco, which is a fantastic viewpoint on the surrounding mountains, especially the nearby Siere, Terze, various Cretone and of course the Dolomites to the west. There is also a small memorial with pictures of those who died in the mountains and in silence we paid respect to the deceased, especially to Simone after whom the ferrata is named, which we stepped onto just behind the dell'Arco pass to the right upwards. At first it's a plain little path, soon we hit the first cable, which wouldn't even be necessary, higher up the real secured path started, the scrambling was really enjoyable, but oh well, it ended soon. Followed marked pathless terrain to the summit of Creton dell'Arco, then again a nice path all the way to the junction with the famous 50 towers ferrata (ferrata Cinquanta del Clap) to the summit of Creton di Culzei (2458m), which we of course already know well. After a short break at the top we descended the secured path to the Alpina saddle (Forca dell'Alpino) from there north to bivouac Damiana del Gobbo. There we found the entry of Petrov's group from Celje from a few days ago, then along the lower path under 322 under Col Lanar back down to the start. Beautiful loop tour, we were a bit disappointed with the short Simone ferrata, otherwise magnificent surroundings, among well-known and mostly already visited mountains. Recommend to experienced hikers.
