We left the bivouac still in the dark. The path led us to Vorderes Umbaltörl, followed by a slight descent on the Italian side to Hinteres Umbaltörl, thus bypassing the insignificant peak Ahrner Kopf. After steep pitches and snowfields we ascended to the Altahuskees glacier, where we properly equipped ourselves and crossed the glacier and short rocky steps to the snow plateau, then over crevassed ice to the Schulter - ridge, and up the snow ramp to the summit of the mountain (Italian Pico dei Tre Signori, Peak of three lords). Feelings exceptional, views magnificent. From the summit we descended the Althauskees glacier for a while, then traversed across rocky slope (locally I.II.) to the Umbalkees glacier, where we re-equipped for glacier and roped up. A long traverse followed to Regentörl (Rain Gate), then descent down the glacier to Simonysee, and further along the glacier moraine to the Essener - Rostocker hut. We quenched our thirst a bit and went down Maurertal to the valley thus completing the Grande Course. Ascent to Dreiherrnspitze is a very serious, demanding, above all extremely long and strenuous tour.
