Starting point: Bar alla Pineta in the Val d'Oten valley.
From there along path 258 through the Antelao valley to Cason Antelao, then we go along path 250 (Alta via Dolomiti) to the eastern glacier below Antelao, which is still of enormous extent. This is followed by some glacial debris, and we are already at the Notch or on some kind of ridge that separates the debris above the glacier and the rocky slope of the end of Lastronov.
We did the descent over the rocky part on the protected path; lower, we cross long slopes under the Sv glacier. Sometimes you have to search a bit for the right direction, as stones continuously roll from the mountain and snow avalanches deposit debris. Some markings, where the path or rather the direction used to run, are even repainted. In the lower part to the hut there is a pleasant trail.
Overall, an interesting tour where you experience everything from green forests, the idyllic pasture Cason Antelao, glacial debris, completely washed and polished rocky sections, protected path and glacial sections.
Hut Galassi is large and almost never really full, so reservations are not needed; that day we were the only ones.
