Moggessa di qua, Moggessa di la and Stavoli

The forgotten villages of Moggessa di qua, Moggessa di là and Stavoli in the foothills of the Carnic Alps offer a nice, approximately 15 km long circular tour.
We start in the settlement Moggio, where we leave the car in a sufficiently large parking area by the church.
The low start is indicated by some palms in the settlement, through which the path towards the saddle between the starting point and the village Moggessa di Qua begins.
After a few meters of asphalt we follow a nicely paved path that was obviously used more in the past. From the saddle we descend along a fairly eroding slope towards the first village Moggessa di qua.
Of all three villages, this was the most interesting to us. Some life is returning to the village, thanks to the road which barely deserves that name and leads from Grauzaria.
After a good half hour we arrive at the next village Moggessa di là, where we enjoy a snack after sightseeing.
Follows a deep and steep descent into the gully of the T. Glagno stream. We ford the stream or cross on larger stones.
Follows a quite steep ascent to the last village Stavoli. No road leads here either, but some tended gardens were visible near the village.
Again descent into the bed of the T. Glagno stream. The path is eased by some metal bridges.
Along T. Glagno runs a parallel path with the stream, where we can admire the clear water of the stream. Short climb to the settlement Campiolo and we are already on asphalt towards the morning starting point.
The circular path does not belong to some mountain hikes, but it is picturesque, scenic and varied.

for Primož (Mojcin dom on Vitranc) if he reads me, I inquired with locals from Moggio, they said that unmarked path that leads downhill a bit before Moggessa di qua to place "Pecol dei stai" and bridge over Glagnò stream is steep and on some parts gravel/scree; if it's the same team that was at CJUCIS (now I know he's known because he trimmed and refreshed path tracks around there) I think no problems but careful, perhaps in reverse direction would be better, bus can be parked near monastery/Abbazia s.Gallo, regards, Alessio.

too bad you didn't visit Stavoli village from Moggessa di là, mid-June weekend they organize a 3-day party with live music, yoga, thematic hikes, camping in tents on the meadow, looks like small woodstock .
