Monte Cadin (2313 m) and Cime Postegae (2358 m)

For a few vacation days, Marjeta and I headed to Cimolais or the Cimoliana valley near the more famous Longarone. At the end of the valley below the Pordenone hut, we parked and on Saturday went along the valley floor to the nearby Meluzzo pasture; later we walked on path 362, which leads to Monte Pramaggiore, but soon left this path and headed on an unmarked (on the map) path towards Pramaggiore pass. The path is not difficult, just somewhat overgrown because it is no longer maintained. At the pass, a nice view opens to the Sentimana valley and the mountains above it. From the pass, we headed right on the not too steep slope, where we soon reached the summit of M. Cadin. Follows a descent of good 100 height meters to the Postegae notch, then ascent again. The path mostly runs along the ridge, which is not particularly exposed, but caution is still needed because there is quite a lot of scree and sand. Soon we are at the summit of Cime Postegae; views excellent all along the path. Follows a somewhat nasty descent (slip hazard) to the Sciol de Mont notch below nearby Monte Ferraro and an even more nasty descent down the cluttered gully, which just doesn't end. Below, the gully spreads into vast scree fields, which are really exceptional here; they bring us to the starting point.
