We started in Sulden right with the cable car which lifts us in two sections (with transfer in between) in 15 min above Milano hut. From there southwards leads a nice path and then across moraine in half an hour we already put on crampons and rope up. On moderately crevassed glacier we climb in two stretches under Eisseepas, where it's dry land and trail goes first along right scree slope. At the pass past remains of hut which ended its career in First World War time we descend a bit to glacier and then gradually in half hour up glacier to Casati hut (3254m) which we eye on ridge for some time. Short walk and sightseeing after dinner interrupted light rain which drives us to our room on 3rd floor. Most parties head in morning towards peaks to the east in beautiful cloudless morning. Since walking itself goes on trampled track and height difference to goal not big (ca 500m) step stops itself and forces to sightseeing. Behind our back in sunshine Ortler and Gran Zebru shine. Approach to summit has harder spot right above last rest where path goes on exposed and steep ice slab which runs out to narrow ridge where icy wind blew. Small rocky bit slightly below summit is leeward and here whole group gathered in admiration of boundless view. Admiration of surroundings and strong sun did their job and return to hut went on already well softened snow, even more water flows in channels in ice in lower part of glaciers. Nice, what nice, great tour but very very far and due to drive also quite strenuous.
