Starting point for the tour is the parking lot below the Piani del Cristo hut, which is on the road from Cima Sappada towards the Piave source. The path starts behind the hut and is marked with number 139. Along the forest road to the small hut, where the first sign for Chiadin is, and there we turn left. The path to the summit is gentle and extremely scenic, the slopes it follows are quite steep in places. When we reach almost the saddle between the east and west summits the path turns left and soon we spot the cross on top. Chiadin is an excellent viewpoint in all directions, Coglians, Peralba, Creta Forata, both Siers, Lastroni are just some of the more famous among many others. Descent is along the same path, circular tour unfortunately not possible. Since the tour is relatively short, measured in elevation meters and hours, after the hike it makes sense to drive to the nearby Piave source and check it out, and Sappada also has something to show. The tour is not demanding and I warmly recommend it. When larches turn golden, it can be the most beautiful.
